Do you know what the perfect music for cooking pasta is? It’s the overture to Rossini’s “The Thieving Magpie”. So it’s said in the first paragraph of “The Wind-Up Bird Chronicle” written by Haruki Murakami. The phrase “the perfect something for doing something” is quite useful and can be used in different ways. One variation could be “the perfect day for something or doing something”. For example, if it’s warm and dry, and you don’t have a dryer machine in particular¹, then it’s the perfect day for laundry. Or, others might say, it’s the perfect day for a barbecue party.
