今日は久々に単語当てクイズをお届けします。英文を聞いて、何のことを話しているのか当ててみましょう 解答は今度の木曜日に発表しますが、分からなかったら辞書 を引いてもOKですよ

英文スクリプト
　I feel like doing a quiz today. If you’ve been with us for some time, I guess you know what to do. I’ll describe something and you’ll find the word for it.

　Let’s say, an earthquake occurs and there’s a power outage¹. You’re in darkness but you won’t get panicked. You reach under the bed and pull out a bag. You have a full set of emergency supplies² in it.

　Now, what’s the first item you would take out of bag? It’s a small portable lamp usually powered by batteries. What is it? What do you call it in English? The word I have in mind starts with the letter ‘F’.

　In case you get injured³ in darkness, you want to make sure that you have basic medical supplies⁴ in the bag, such as bandages, antiseptics⁵ and ointments⁶. Now, what do you call this emergency, temporary treatment⁷ you would give to an injured person at the site before professional medical care is available? Your answer should be a combination of two words, the first one starting with the letter ‘F’ and the second one with the letter ‘A’.

　今日はクイズといきましょうか 常連さんならお分かりでしょう。ある物事について説明しますので、それに相当する言葉を当ててください。

　地震が起きました 停電です。あたりは真っ暗ですが、あなたは慌てたりしません。ベッドの下からバッグを引っ張り出します。この中に防災用品が入っています。

　さて、まず真っ先に取り出すものは何でしょう 小型の携帯照明器具です。多くは電池式です。この器具は何か 英語では何と言うか 私の頭にある答えはアルファベットのFで始まる単語です

　暗闇で怪我をした場合に備え、防災バックの中には絆創膏、消毒薬、軟膏類など、基本的な医療用品も入れておかなければなりません。では、医者の治療が受けられるまでに、現場で行う緊急の一時的な手当のことを英語では何と言うでしょう 2つの単語で答えてください。最初の単語はF、次に来る単語はAで始まります
