　Have you seen the second part of “The Deathly Hallows”? This is the last installment of the Harry Potter movies and it’s now in theaters. After 10 whole years, the Potter saga¹ finally comes to an end.

　This past weekend, I watched the part one on DVD. If you haven’t seen it yet, don’t worry, I’m not going to be a spoiler². I just want to quote a simple phrase from the movie, which is ‘on the count of three³‘.

　When two or more people try to do something together at the same time, they would say this phrase and count three before doing that. Let’s say, you and your friends are trying to lift something heavy. You would say, “On the count of three”, and then “One, two, three!” and do it.

　This expression is constantly used in daily conversations. On the count of three, we jump. On the count of three, we scream. On the count of three, we smile for a picture.
