Hi everyone! Thank you for tuning in to Time for English.

Today, I’m going to talk about another idiom from Nespresso’s new television ad.

When the ad begins, George Clooney is in a Nespresso store and a woman in red approaches him and speaks to him. Later in the story, it turns out the woman is married. And her husband, who seems to be a villain, accuses Clooney of fancying his wife. Oh, no! The husband says, “How are you going to make it up to me?”

When you have upset someone, you want to make it up to them. In other words, you want to do something good for them in order to become friends with them again. It’s a way of saying you’re sorry and asking for their forgiveness.

Now, how does Clooney make it up to the husband? Well, go see the ad and find out.
